I walk along this mountain trail 

Don’t pay attention to the scenery 

Faced down lost in thoughts

I saunter through the dust

 

A straw between my teeth

A peeled off twig in my fist
I can almost hear the silence  

Bouncing in the wind 

 

 The day that i decided To do this walk alone
Is the day that I stepped forward  From here i won’t go down
The day that i succeeded in sending my demons away
Is the day I saw this little light  in the darkness of my mind 

 

 The backpack i still carry

Too full and filled with trash 

Quite puzzled oh and dazzled 

A frozen and damaged heart 

 

Loud noise a hawk out hunting

Chased away by a chickadee
They disturb me in my thoughts

But it’s a funny thing to see

Alone on the Mountain
Heading for the Top
Worn out cowboys boots
Kick against some pebble stones

Under the burnin’ sun
Despite the hidden rattlesnakes
