The Challenge (Team 48)

Featuring Paulus on Beatboxing & Backing Vocals

Roparun 2017

We've been asked to write a song for Roparun Team 48 (Hunter Douglas). This team was running in the first weekend of June from Paris to Rotterdam.

That's 521,6 km (324 Mile). They run 24/7 in a relay race.

Many months the runners been working on it.  Not only to be fit enough,  they also work hard to raise money for Cancer Researches and they also had to organise everything food and care around their own team during the race.  Quite a load on their shoulders. All for a good cause.

The Song

The lyrics are supposed  to  tell about the patients and the relay race

and .... it was supposed to inclose positivity.

The music was asked to be funky.  We love "funky" but the song didn't actually become a funky one.  There's a reason for that.

Somewhere back in 2006, when Paul joined the band of Jan and Richard, Richard used to play a certain guitar riff.  a riff they all liked very much. We decided to take that riff as basis for the song for Paul. It's an energetic riff,  inviting you to jump or run.

It was an honor writing and recording this song for this occasion. We're very proud of it andWe hope you like it too!
