Merlin

I feel like an old discarded freight-train.

Wheels are rotten or not even there

Halfway stranded, ran out of steam.

Blinding smoke and a blown out dream

Feel like a long forgotten storybook.

Discolored pages, buried in dust

Fairies are gone, no trace left,

no bread crumbs, just a mystical atmosphere

Merlin!  You’ve got to come back to us, hurry!

We make a mess of everything that’s pretty

Merlin!  Perform a spell, turn bad into good, quickly

Merlin!  We need some full moon magic now

A Tin Lizzie ready for demolition.

The power’s off, still vibrations everywhere

No, not rusty yet,  but the paint is dull.

Doubts as to whether, the engine will run again

An old graveyard buried under crops.

Mossy stones half sunk into the ground

Big old trees provide endless darkness.

It’s all quiet, a timeless silence

Merlin!  You’ve got to come back to us, hurry!

We make a mess of everything that is pretty

Merlin!  Perform a spell, turn bad into good, quickly!

Merlin!  We need some full moon magic now
